Norovirus Outbreaks

Noro-viruses are a group of viruses that cause viral gastroenteritis, also known as acute non-bacterial gastroenteritis or food poisoning. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, low-grade fever, chills, headache and fatigue. Noro-viruses are transmitted by fecal-oral contamination through water and food vehicles, and by person-to-person transmission.

Pollution of shellfish waters and poor personal hygiene are common contributors. However, due to the mildness of some viral gastroenteritis infections, noro-viruses are grossly under-detected and under-reported.

Norovirus outbreaks are especially common in confined spaces like military camps, cruise ships, nursing homes, hospitals and schools. These viruses have made headlines around the world due to their persistence on cruises. These viruses are able to survive for days on surfaces causing epidemics.

In order to break the cycle of infection our intensive cleaning protocols of super-sanitizing all contaminated surfaces are implemented.

We have the ability to travel almost anywhere on short notice with our team of technicians to your location when required. We will consult with you and implement an Outbreak Prevention Plan to help prevent future outbreaks and train your employees correct preventative techniques while on location.
